A Gift for Your GM: a Figurine of Their Favourite NPC
September is when campaigns start up again. Character sheets come back out, the group finally agrees on a slot, and your game master signs up for months of prep work. They write the plots, improvise the lines, hold fifteen different voices in a single evening. Then, at the end of the session, they pack up their notes while everyone else talks about their own character.
There is one gift that fixes that: a figurine of the NPC they invented, the one your table still quotes three campaigns later.
Why this lands with a GM
Your GM already owns dice, a screen, play mats and almost certainly too many rulebooks. What they never own is a physical object taken from their own creation. Their NPCs exist only in their notes and in the group's memory.
Taking that figurine out of the box tells them the writing mattered. And the piece has an immediate job to do: it goes back on the table next session, on the right side of the screen this time.
Imagination Mode: a character with no photo
An NPC has no face to photograph. That is exactly what Imagination Mode is for. You describe the character in plain text, with no photo, and the AI builds the figurine from your description. A reference picture is still an option if you have one, but it is not required.
To get a result that matches what your table pictures, keep the description concrete:
- the silhouette and overall bearing
- the outfit and the standout pieces of gear
- the attitude, planted firmly or leaning forward
- the world the character belongs to
You can also start from the library styles. Elf, Mage, Barbarian, Orc, Thief, Knight and Death Knight cover most of a campaign's fantasy roster. Count one figurine per character: every NPC is its own piece.
One tip before you validate: quietly ask the other players how they picture the character. Your memories will differ, and the consensus makes a much better description. Keep in mind too that the AI simplifies or removes very small accessories such as thin glasses or cords, so the print stays clean. Describe your NPC through volumes rather than micro details.
Which NPC to pick
The right pick is not the final boss, it is the character who keeps showing up in the group's running jokes. A few angles that work well:
- the mentor or recurring contact, the one who hands out the missions
- the antagonist nobody has managed to corner
- the NPC improvised in a tavern who became a legend by accident
- the campaign mascot the group refuses to leave behind
If you are hesitating, pick the one whose voice your GM still imitates.

For a gift that ends up on the game table, 54mm is the obvious call: it sits among the rest of your miniatures without standing out. For a piece to display behind the screen, step up to 110mm.

Plan ahead for the new season
The calendar is on your side if you start now. The 2D preview arrives in under three minutes, the 3D model is prepared within 24 business hours after your validation, then an unpainted figurine ships within 10 business days. For a painted figurine, allow 20 to 25 days.
In practice, if you want to hand the piece over at the first real session of the season, order two to three weeks ahead. Everything is printed to order in SLA resin in our French workshop, and any photo you do use is deleted after generation.
