When to Order Your Figurine So It Arrives on Time
A birthday lands in three weeks, a farewell party is happening next Friday, Christmas is getting closer. The question is always the same: when should I order?
A custom figurine does not come out of a stock box. It does not exist until you order it. Your photo becomes a 3D model, that model goes to the resin printers in our French workshop, and the piece is packed for you. Every stage has its own lead time, and the good news is that you know them all up front. Here is the full timeline so you can aim right.
The three stages of an order
The 2D preview: under 3 minutes. You upload your photo, or describe your character in Imagination Mode if you would rather start from an idea than a face. You pick the style, the render, the size, and you watch the result appear. This is the moment to adjust, try another mood, change your mind. Nothing starts until you approve it.
The 3D model: within 24 business hours. Once your preview is approved, our team prepares the printable 3D model. This stage is counted in business hours, not calendar days.
Shipping: within 10 business days. After the 3D model is approved, your unpainted figurine is printed in SLA resin and shipped within 10 business days.
| Stage | Lead time |
|---|---|
| 2D preview | Under 3 minutes |
| 3D model | Within 24 business hours of your approval |
| Shipping, unpainted figurine | Within 10 business days |
| Shipping, hand painted figurine | 20 to 25 days |
The painted option needs more room
If you go for the hand painted figurine, allow 20 to 25 days. Painting is done piece by piece, by hand, with a classic finish: main tones, contrasts, a clean result ready to display. A preview is sent to you before painting starts.
This option exists only in 150mm (129€) and 180mm (169€). Every other figurine arrives in raw, unpainted resin, ready for your own brush if you feel like it.
The simple rule: two to three weeks ahead
For an unpainted figurine, order two to three weeks before the date. That comfortably absorbs the 24 business hours of modelling, the 10 business days before shipping, and the transit time to your door.
For a painted figurine, plan generously and work from the stated 20 to 25 days. If the date is fixed and it matters, a full month of lead time saves you from checking your tracking number every morning.
One thing to anticipate when the gift involves several people: a figurine represents one person, or one animal. For a couple, a team or a family, that means one figurine per person. The pieces are ordered together, so the lead time does not multiply, but it is worth keeping in mind when you set your budget.
The stage that depends on you
In practice, the most common delay does not come from the workshop. It comes from a preview generated in three minutes, then left sitting in an open tab for five days. The clock only starts when you approve.
Two minutes of attention at the start will save you days:
- pick a sharp, front facing photo with a well lit face
- keep in mind that very fine accessories, thin glasses, cords, small jewellery, are simplified or removed so the piece stays printable
- decide on the size before approving, since it drives both the price and access to the painted option
On the privacy side, the photo you send is deleted after generation.
Delivery
We ship with tracking to France and every European Union country (Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands and more), and only within the EU to avoid customs. Every figurine leaves in reinforced packaging with custom made padding, because resin travels better when it does not move. Shipping costs are not included and are calculated at checkout.
If the date really is too close
There is still an option: download the 3D file of your figurine, in OBJ format with textures, and print it yourself or have it printed near you. Two printing profiles are provided, 0.4 nozzle with 0.12 layers and 0.2 nozzle with 0.06 layers. One thing to know before you start: these files are AI generated and may need cleanup or rework in a 3D tool, or may differ from what you expected.
Your turn
The simplest move is to start now: the preview takes under three minutes and commits you to nothing. Create your figurine, compare formats and prices on our pricing page, and if you are already planning the holidays, our article on the Christmas figurine is a good place to begin.
