Our library holds 15+ human styles, from Knight to Cyberpunk to Manga Hero. That covers a lot of ideas, but not the one people ask for most when they want to gift a figurine: seeing someone in their job. A nurse's scrubs, a firefighter's helmet, a baker's apron, a vet's coat, none of that is on the list. This is exactly what Custom Mode unlocks.
Custom Mode in a nutshell
The principle is simple. You start from a photo, like any other Minivatar figurine, and instead of picking a style from the library, you describe the outfit and the world you want yourself. The AI keeps the facial features detected on your photo and dresses the character according to your description.
That is the difference with Imagination Mode, which creates a fully invented character with no photo at all, the way you would populate a tabletop campaign. Here, the face stays the real one. You are not creating a generic firefighter, you are creating your firefighter.
Describing the outfit is 90% of the result
A good description is short, concrete and visual. Think about what an illustrator would need in order to draw the silhouette from the front and from the back.
What actually helps:
- The main outfit: blue medical scrubs, white chef's jacket, work coveralls, a club sports kit.
- One or two signature props: a stethoscope around the neck, a helmet under the arm, a cutting board, a satchel.
- The pose: arms crossed, hands on hips, holding something out.
- The overall mood: realistic, heroic, slightly theatrical.
Two habits to avoid. First, piling on ten accessories. A figurine is a printed object, not an illustration, and a readable character beats a cluttered one every time. Second, relying on tiny details. To guarantee a reliable print, the AI simplifies or removes thin glasses, piercings, cords and small jewelry, and very fine fabric patterns are replaced by the outfit you described. Bet on recognizable volumes rather than a 2 mm badge.
Choosing the render and the size
For a human figurine, you then pick a render:
- Complex: rich detail, gradients and fine textures. The best choice when the outfit is the whole point and you want every fold visible.
- Simplified: bright, flat colors, 5 maximum. Ideal if you plan to paint the figurine yourself.
- Chibi: big round head, large eyes, smooth surfaces. Perfect for an affectionate tone, typically a gift from colleagues.
