Complex, Simplified, or Chibi: Which Render to Choose for Your Figurine?

When you create your figurine on Minivatar, you can choose between three render types. Each has its advantages and produces a very different result. Here's everything you need to know to make the right choice.

Complex Render: Maximum Detail

The complex render is designed for collectors and fans of ultra-detailed figurines. It features:

  • Realistic color gradients
  • Fine textures on clothing, armor, and accessories
  • A level of detail ideal for larger sizes (110mm and 200mm)

It's the perfect choice if you want an impressive figurine to display. However, this render is better suited for professional resin printing to reach its full potential.

Simplified Render: Efficiency First

The simplified render uses a maximum of 5 colors and cleaner shapes. Its advantages:

  • Perfect for home 3D printing (FDM or resin)
  • Easy to paint if you want to customize your figurine
  • A charming cartoon-style look

If you have your own 3D printer and want an easy-to-print file, this is the ideal render.

Chibi Render: Adorable by Design

The Chibi style is inspired by the exaggerated proportions of Japanese manga:

  • Large round head and big expressive eyes
  • Compact and cute body
  • Ideal for small sizes (54mm)

Chibi is perfect as a gift, for a fun collection, or if you want something light and quirky.

How to Choose?

  • You want to display your figurine → Complex in 110mm or 200mm
  • You print at home → Simplified for an optimized file
  • You're looking for a fun gift → Chibi in 54mm
  • You can't decide → Try multiple renders! Generation is fast

Your turn! Test all three renders and find the one that best matches your style.
