A Custom Figurine of Grandpa: The Gift He Cannot Already Own

Every year, the same traffic jam of ideas. A scarf, a bottle, another photo frame. He will say thank you, put the box away, and six months later nobody will remember it.

In France, Grandfathers' Day falls on the first Sunday of October, and plenty of families elsewhere mark their own grandparents' day around the same season. Whatever the date on your calendar, there is one thing he definitely does not own yet: himself, in miniature, printed in resin in a French workshop from a single photo.

A gift that cannot be a duplicate

Grandfathers rarely need anything. It is the running joke of every family gathering. The only safe ground is the object that exists nowhere else.

A figurine of him is exactly that. Not something that disappears into a cupboard, but a piece that ends up on the sideboard or on his desk, and that every visitor notices. Quietly, it is also an object that outlives the occasion: in twenty years, it will still be there.

How it works

You upload a photo of him, the AI reads his features, and the 2D preview appears in under three minutes. You pick the style, the render and the size, adjust as much as you like, and nothing goes into production until you approve it. Your photo is deleted after the generation.

On a human figurine, three renders are available:

  • Complex: rich in detail, with gradients and fine textures. The most faithful, and the most demanding if someone plans to paint it later.
  • Simplified: bright, flat colours, five maximum. Clean to read and easy to paint.
  • Chibi: big round head, large eyes, smooth surfaces. The most endearing, and usually the one that makes the whole room laugh.

The photo that gets the best result

Everything is decided at the start. A sharp photo, face on, with the face well lit, and the rest follows.

Two things worth knowing before you choose your shot. Very fine accessories such as thin glasses, cords and small jewellery are simplified or removed by the AI so the piece stays printable. And very fine fabric patterns are replaced by the clothing of the style you selected. In other words, do not count on his Sunday checked shirt being reproduced thread by thread.

Size and budget

Every figurine ships in raw, unpainted resin, unless you choose the painting option.

SizePrice
54mm18€
110mm31€
150mm38€
180mm45€

The 110mm is the display format by default, big enough to be seen across a room without taking over the shelf. The 54mm stays the most accessible option, and the 180mm becomes the centrepiece when several grandchildren chip in together. Shipping is not included and is calculated at checkout.

If you want it to arrive ready to display, the hand-painted option exists in 150mm (129€) and 180mm (169€). Hand painting, classic finish, main tones and contrasts, with a preview sent before the paint goes on.

His portrait, in his world

More than 15 styles are available for human figurines. Football, Tennis, Basketball or Rugby for the one who never misses a match. Knight, Mage or Elf for the fantasy reader. Cyberpunk for the grandfather who has always been one step ahead.

And if nothing quite fits, Custom Mode lets you describe a style that is not in the library while keeping the face from the photo. The gardener with his secateurs, the carpenter, the fisherman, the retired firefighter. That is usually the moment the gift becomes truly his.

One figurine per person

A photo becomes a figurine, and a figurine shows one single person. There is no couple or group piece.

If you want your grandmother included, that means one figurine each, ordered at the same time. Two pieces that sit side by side and stay readable on their own. Same logic when several grandchildren join in: the budget is shared, the lead time is not multiplied.

His dog or his cat can join the shelf too. Animal figurines cover dogs and cats, with six styles, in 54mm and 110mm.

When to order

The timeline is simple. Preview in under three minutes, 3D model prepared by the team within 24 working hours of your approval, then shipping within 10 working days for an unpainted figurine. The rule to remember: order two to three weeks before the date.

For a hand-painted figurine, count on 20 to 25 days. If you are aiming at the first Sunday of October with that option, now is the moment.

We ship with tracking to France, Belgium, Luxembourg and every European Union country, in reinforced packaging with custom-fitted padding.

Your turn

The preview takes under three minutes and commits you to nothing: find the right photo, try two or three styles, and you will know straight away. Create your figurine, compare formats on our pricing page, and if you are still unsure about the size, our size guide will help you decide.
